Biospheres

This is a Biosphere diorama that me and my group made.  It has everything needed:  Water purifiers, a farm, lounge and bedrooms, a school, a kitchen and toilets.  It took a while to make, but it looks decent.

Camp MERC Certificate

This is my certificate for attending camp.  we stayed at camp for 3 days (2 Nights).  Camp was fun.  The food was delicious.

I enjoyed staying at Camp MERC (Marine Education and Recreation Centre).  The activities were cool.  I would like to go to camp again if I could.

Grid Value Portrait

Last term, we were doing a type of art called a grid value portrait.  A grid value portrait is a picture or photo enlarged using a grid.

Everyone in our class enlarged a picture of themselves.

Our pictures were in black and white, so in our enlargement the light parts were light and the dark parts were dark. In each square there needs to be a pattern.  For a dark square, the pattern needs to be close together to make it look dark.  For a light square, the pattern needs to be far apart.  The squares help position your eyes and other things.  This is why it is called a grid value Portrait.

I thought that one of the trickiest parts was to make the nose and the eyes.  What I like the most about my portrait was the light squares because they were much easier than the dark squares.  The light squares were also much shorter to make.

Making the portraits took a long time but I enjoyed making them.  

Peer Mediation Video

This is my Peer Mediation Video.  Lately, we have been learning to be a Peer Mediator.  We have done this to test what we have learnt.  I am not going to be a peer mediator this year, but it is still important to practice in case there is not Mediator around. 

Making a Healthy Sandwich

This is my Making a Healthy Sandwich presentation.  It shows healthy things to put in your sandwich.  We did this because this year we have been learning about Well-Being. 

Learning about the Japanese Cuture

On Thursday last week 70 students from Hoshino Gauken private school came to our school to do things with us.  There were 5 rotations:

A card game, Origami, A ball game, Calligraphy and I can't remember the last one.  I had fun.

The Te Tuhi Matariki Project

This Post is about the Te Tuhi trip we did not long ago (Monday 25).  At the trip we started making a vertical garden.  The other classes will add to it when they come.  I enjoyed going to Te Tuhi.

Me and My TravelWise Certificate

This is my TravelWise certificate that I got today in the assembly.  I am very proud of it.  Yesterday, (Thursday 19) I went to a workshop to train to be a TravelWise Student Leader.  I really enjoyed it.  I am looking foward to this year.

Korowai Cloak

This is the  Koruwai Cloak that the class made.  Miss Naidoo made the cloak and we (The Kids) made the hands on it. The hands have what we like and important values on them.

Allegro Learns how to Play Minecraft

My Reflection:

This is a Allegro story that   did together with Oliver.  We taught Allegro how to play Minecraft.  Allegro thought it was fun and it was a fun book too.  

The Musical Cockroach

My Reflection:
This is a fun story that everyone in R13 took part in.  The story is about a adventurous cockroach that loved music and would do ANYTHING to hear music.  So he left his family, Traveled to EPS and and herd music from R13 and lived inside the classroom happily.

This is my Te Tuhi art.  I made it out of squares and triangles.  I think it looks like the Millennium Falcon.  I like it.  

Walking School Bus Milo and Muffins Day

Today was milo and muffins day at school.  At milo and muffins day you get a milo and half a muffin.  There is also a draw as well.  When you fill up a WSB ticket you put it into a draw.  Then,  at the end of the term some tickets are  taken out.  The people who got there ticket taken out get a prize.
