Learning to solve maths word problems

Reflection on my maths problem solving learning:
I used 2 strategies  to solve this problem: multiplication and addition.

I learned to draw pictures to understand what was happening in the problem. I also learned that using a grid is good to work out problems like this because it is easy to understand. I filled in the grid in my evidence all by myself.

Next, I would like to practice using grids more.

It was good to see you combine addition and multiplication strategies to work out parts of this problem. You used the grid really well to and could see that $9 equalled 2 weeks pocket money. You apply your maths knowledge well and work systematically.
